Jaguars Injury Roundup: 4 Questionable; Wingard & Walker Little Ruled Out

The Jaguars roster continues the push and pull of one step forward, two steps back, as they look to receive some additional help for the coming week 14 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts, while also potentially missing some key contributors. On Friday the team officially declared starting left tackle Walker Little and Safety Andrew (Dewey) Wingard inactive for Sunday’s matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. Both players were ruled out after suffering concussions against the Tennessee Titans in week 13. With Walker Little leaving Sunday’s win over the Titans with concussion symptoms, it would seem that another week is on deck for Cole Van Lanen to slide in at left tackle.

In related news, offensive lineman Patrick Mekari has also cleared the concussion protocol after missing week 13, entering this matchup with no injury designation. In addition to Mekari, his backup at right guard, Chuma Edoga also returns to the playing field after missing week 13 due to a calf injury.

The following players are currently questionable for Sunday:

  • DE Travon Walker (knee)
  • WR Parker Washington (hip)
  • DT Arik Armstead (hand)
  • S Eric Murray (neck)

Arik Armstead and Travon Walker returning would be a boon to the Jacksonville defense preparing to face Jonathan Taylor. Armstead practiced all week while wearing a cast over his injured hand following his week 13 absence against the Titans.

Both Walker and Washington were limited participants on Thursday and Friday after sitting out Wednesday’s practice. The team has yet to officially decide on the playing status of safety Eric Murray. While Murray has been a full participant in practice all week, he is currently still listed as questionable, as fans await a return from the injured reserve list.

For Indianapolis, the Colts will be down multiple top talents on Sunday. The loss of defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, who’s been on IR for a few weeks, will be huge for the Indianapolis defense. Additionally, cornerback Sauce Gardner, injured his calf on Sunday and has subsequently been ruled out by Indianapolis, resulting in a loss of two All Pro defenders this week.

Offensively, Quarterback Daniel Jones will continue to play through his fibula injury. While this may impact how often he runs the ball (he only had one rush last week against Houston), he looked pretty good versus the Texans, even rolling out on one of his touchdown passes Sunday. Saturday’s injury updates could have a significant impact on this one.
