LET JIMMY COOK!

The Jacksonville Jaguars were the most active team on the first day of 2025 NFL Free Agency.

During the “negotiation period” of NFL Free Agency, teams may agree to contract terms with free agents, though the deals won’t become official until the new league year begins on Wednesday.

The Jaguars — led by a new “football leadership unit” of head coach Liam Coen, general manager James Gladstone, and executive VP of football operations Tony Boselli — agreed to terms with nine free agents on Monday.

  • CB Jourdan Lewis
  • QB Nick Mullens
  • TE Johnny Mundt
  • TE Hunter Long
  • WR Dyami Brown
  • S Eric Murray
  • OL Patrick Mekari
  • OT Chuma Edoga
  • C Robert Hainsey

It’s generally not a great look to sign so many players so early. Title-contending teams preach patience and wait to find value in the second and third waves of free agency.

That said, the Jaguars didn’t exactly break the bank for any of its new additions. It’d be worrisome if Shaq Griffin or Christian Kirk-like contracts were being handed out, but the team’s new brass instead looked to upgrade the middle and back end of its depth chart.
