The Philadelphia Eagles made a notable move at the trade deadline by acquiring edge rusher Jaelan Phillips from the Miami Dolphins.
The addition signals the defending champions’ commitment to strengthening their pass rush as they prepare for a postseason run.
Phillips has quickly embraced the opportunity to join a team with championship aspirations and a winning culture.
After arriving in Philadelphia and going through his first practice with the team, Phillips spoke to reporters in the locker room about his excitement.
“I thought I was excited on Day One, but talk to me now. This is literally the greatest thing that’s happened to me in my whole life, probably,” Phillips said. “It’s just awesome. The guys are awesome. Everybody’s been super welcoming. I love the environment, I love the vibe here.”

Phillips’ reaction highlights the culture head coach Nick Sirianni has built within the organization.
Sirianni noted Thursday that the Eagles have a structured orientation process designed to help new players adjust quickly with support from veteran staff members.
Phillips already has familiarity with defensive coordinator Vic Fangio, which should accelerate his integration into the scheme.
The transition represents a fresh start for Phillips after dealing with locker room instability during his time in Miami.
Philadelphia’s cohesive environment has been a welcome change for the former first-round pick out of UCLA.
The Eagles expect him to contribute immediately in their edge rotation as they look to improve a pass rush currently tied for 25th in the NFL with 16 sacks.
Phillips has recorded 26 career sacks across four-plus seasons.
He joins a defensive front that recently welcomed back Brandon Graham from retirement and will soon see Nolan Smith Jr. return from a triceps injury alongside contributors Jalyx Hunt and Joshua Uche.
