The Philadelphia Eagles needed help for their pass rush, so general manager Howie Roseman worked his magic again to acquire another star.

Edge rusher Jaelan Phillips couldn’t be happier about his trade away from the Miami Dolphins to the defending Super Bowl champions.

“It’s incredible. I had no idea this was going to happen. There’s literally no other team I would rather play for. Obviously, Philly’s a storied franchise. Great tradition. Incredible team. I’m just excited to get in, work with the guys. I love [coordinator Vic Fangio], as a person and as a coach. I’ve had some good success with him. Excited to get back in his system and play with the other guys on defense,” Phillips said.

The move reunites Phillips with Fangio, who was his defensive coordinator in Miami for a season.

The Eagles’ getting Brandon Graham to come out of retirement was expected to help a little after losing Za’Darius Smith to his own retirement, but it may not have been enough to fix the pass rush.

Now, they have one of the most underrated rushers in the game, someone whose effort was going to waste with the Dolphins.

Phillips has three sacks this season and 26.0 in his five-year NFL career.

Once again, the Eagles landed a Pro Bowl-caliber player on a team-friendly deal, and the best part is that, given he’s 26 years old and is familiar with Fangio’s system, the pending free agent could become a long-term addition.

As for the Dolphins, they could move on from other veteran players and add as many draft assets as possible before the looming NFL trade deadline.
