Even though they didn’t have the top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars forced their ways into the headlines by executing a blockbuster trade up to No. 2 overall to select Travis Hunter. By trading next year’s first-round pick plus the No. 5 overall selection in the first round of this year’s draft, the Jaguars made it known that Hunter was a big part of their future.

After getting a glimpse at his talent on both sides of the ball during rookie minicamp, the Jaguars have now gotten their top selection signed to his rookie contract.

According to ESPN’s NFL reporter Adam Schefter, the Jaguars have signed Hunter to a four-year, $46.65 million fully guaranteed contract. His deal includes a $30.57 million signing bonus, and the Jaguars are paying the entirety of it up front.

Hunter’s contract makes him the first non-quarterback not drafted first overall to get his entire signing bonus paid up front.

Yet, as a two-way player that the Jaguars plan to play at both wide receiver and cornerback, it makes sense for Jacksonville to do something unprecedented with their new possible superstar.
