Shad Khan is not in New Orleans to watch his team, the Jacksonville Jaguars, play in the Super Bowl. However, he is in the Big Easy for the Big Game and arrived to town on his massive, $360 million yacht.
The boat itself would barely fit inside the Superdome!
Khan, 74, is worth approximately $13 billion— with a B. He ranked 55th on the Forbes 400 list of wealthiest Americans as recently as 2024. His giant fortune comes primarily from his ownership of Flex-N-Gate, which he purchased in 1980. The car parts supplier works closely with major automakers like General Motors, Toyota, Ford and Chrysler.
Khan purchased Jacksonville’s NFL team for $770 million in 2012. He spent approximately half of that amount to purchase his newest megayacht, the Kismet, near the end of 2024.
Kismet debuted at the Monaco Yacht Show. It is Khan’s fourth yacht and third megayacht. It is also his largest.
The Kismet has a length on water of 400 feet, which is longer than a football field. Nine cabins can accommodate up to 12 guests with a crew of 36+ to serve them.
It is currently parked at a dock in New Orleans. Notice the “hood ornament” in homage to the Jags.
