Hail! to the victors. Hail! to the conquering heroes...
The Jacksonville Jaguars have been making a flurry of coaching moves that will surely help shape and reshape the drafting outlook come April.
The NFL Draft is as fickle a process as ever, but there are a handful of names that seem to rise above the rest when it comes to early Jaguar mocks. Defensive tackle Mason Graham and cornerback Will Johnson, both from the University of Michigan, are undoubtedly the prevailing names this early in the process.
There is still plenty of time to go before April but it might be time for Jags fans to familiarize themselves with a couple of guys from The Wolverine State.
Let’s start this week off with a Graham mock. Both Nate Tice and Charles McDonald think that due to the run on quarterbacks early, the Jags will have the pick of the litter on the rest of the field and opt to bulk up on the interior defense.
With QBs and Hunter going early, the Jaguars have talented players to select from. The Jaguars, and whatever general manager will be making this pick for them, go with the explosive Graham to add some interior disruption to their front. Jacksonville has holes at other places along the roster, but Graham is a talented player who played through injuries in 2025, and would turn the Jaguars’ front into one of the league’s better ones right away.
If Arik Armstead is going to move full-time back to the inside, he and Graham would create quite a 1-2 punch to go along with Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker.
A defender from Michigan is mocked to the Jags here. Who would have guessed? In this mock, however, Graham goes No. 4 overall to the New England Patriots. With that pick in mind, the Jags select another Michigan defender in cornerback Will Johnson.
The Jaguars allowed a 67.1% completion rate last season. They need a premier secondary piece with excellent coverage skills and some high-level football IQ. Will Johnson has that packed into a 6’2″, 205-pound frame ready to move around the formation in man or zone. His coverage skills and athleticism could make him a lockdown corner, potentially reshaping their pass defense. Jacksonville also snags one of the rare DBs who does not make many contact-avoiding business decisions in the run game.
Graham and Johnson are going to be the big names for the Jags. Both these guys were even floated as options for the team during the year. Each player does make a good bit of sense for Jacksonville, with Johnson potentially even making the most sense given the team’s struggles to defend the pass this past season.
Trapasso also likes Johnson to the Jags, having Graham “fall” to No. 8. Johnson is actually the first corner off the board in this draft, as the Jags pass on Travis Hunter and instead go with the...
