The Notre Dame linebacker credits the new Bengals DC for his development.

The Cincinnati Bengals have had an eventful offseason as they have added a new play-caller on the defensive side of the ball.

Al Golden is very familiar with the Queen City and returns to the franchise after helping lead the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to the National Championship Game this past season.

Now, he will look to make an impact with the Bengals defense. Well, according to one of his linebackers in South Bend, Golden is plenty prepared to help lead an NFL defense.

“Every day that we watched film, it was of Logan Wilson, it was of the Detroit Lions, the New England Patriots,” Jack Kiser said of Golden. “It was NFL film, it was NFL drills. That’s what we were doing out here.”

Not only is he a “wizard” according to Kiser, he also really cares about the players and being the best every day.

“He was emotional. The biggest thing about the guy is he cares so much,” Kiser said. “He cares about the players, he cares about the program, he cares about challenging each other, being the best every single day. That’s him. Before he left, he made sure everybody had the chance to swing by his office and get to talk to him.”

Despite some solid years from Lou Anarumo, it sounds like the Bengals got the perfect fit to help bolster this defense as the team chases another trip to the Super Bowl. Going to be fun to watch.
