One of the things that fans have pointed out is that the Jordan Davis thicc six almost didn’t happen. It was Jakorian Bennett clobbering Rams holder/punter Ethan Evans which made the whole thing possible:
The chance of Evans doing anything with that recovered fumble is close to zero. But if he falls on it or it bounces around a bit, someone probably swallows the football and the game is over with a 27-26 Eagles win. Instead, Bennett absolutely smokes Evans, which clears a path for Davis to pick up the ball and take it to the house.
So just a small footnote here for the annals of Eagledom. The Jordan Davis thicc six will be one of the all-time lasting snapshots, but it only happened because Bennett put a hard shoulder into the holder. He should really get some kind of assist on the play, maybe we make up a fake stat and give him a half-fumble recovery or something along those lines. Some kind of hockey assist or similar. For now, this award-winning blog post will have to suffice.
