According to Pro Football Focus, Pittsburgh Steelers fans who thought they were done with the Kenny Pickett experience might have thought too soon. PFF released pro-player comparisons for the top quarterback prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft, and Steelers target Jaxson Dart was likened to Pittsburgh’s 2022 first-round pick.
According to each player’s NFL Combine numbers, their heights and weights are similar (Dart’s hand measurement was an inch wider, though.) Both are pocket passers who completed almost 70% of their passes in their final year of college for similar yardage totals, although Dart did so attempting 99 fewer passes.
Another QB prospect who visited with the Steelers, Shedeur Sanders, was likened to Teddy Bridgewater. The pair have nearly identical builds and were high-completion passers in college. Bridgewater was decidedly more conservative, with fewer touchdowns and interceptions.

The Steelers connections on the list don’t stop there. Projected first overall pick Cam Ward was compared to Ben Roethlisberger, and not just because both went to a school called Miami. Both were characterized by high-volume passing in college. Ward set the all-time career touchdowns record, while Roethlisberger set an NCAA record for games throwing for 200 yards. Roethlisberger is bigger and heavier, but both moved around well enough to keep a play alive before their arm bailed them out.
Alabama’s Jalen Milroe was linked to former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Quincy Carter. Each were decent throwing the ball in college but excelled on the ground using their athleticism. Milroe has occasionally been linked to the Steelers, mostly in the event that he slides to the third round.
