Heads-up internet detectives caught former NFL “Sunday Night Football” reporter Michele Tafoya red-handed.

Since leaving the sports reporting world in 2022, 60-year-old Michele Tafoya has been outspoken about her conservative views. She has been critical of former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and transgenders competing in women’s sports.

Of course, Tafoya wasn’t this outspoken during her tenure as the sideline reporter for NBC “Sunday Night Football.” Now that she doesn’t have to stay neutral on political subjects, the four-time Emmy Award winner is allowed to speak freely. And she clearly doesn’t mind whatever backlash may follow.

Tafoya is exercising her freedom of speech, sure. But let’s just say if she’s gonna try and get away with a blatant lie on social media, someone with a platform like hers should try to cover the tracks a little better.

This afternoon on X/Twitter, Tafoya shared a note she claims to have received from a flight attendant. The note praises Tafoya’s work, podcast and “voice of reason.”

Thank you to the flight attendant who handed this to me in flight. pic.twitter.com/kMf2YbHGFw

Unfortunately for Michele Tafoya, the internet doesn’t forget. Several social media detectives noticed that Tafoya shared a photo of the exact same note two years earlier. Here’s the proof:

Michele, how many times is this exact same flight attendant gonna hand you this exact same note https://t.co/klmgy1fjBa pic.twitter.com/Pg0UOowLIl

Michelle, you lying knob of a stunt queen. At least get a new letter! 🤣 Sure feels like you wrote it yourself if you could produce the exact same letter and handwriting in 2023 AND 2025. Pulling a William Hurt in Broadcast News with your manufactured emotion here. 😂 pic.twitter.com/t8RIROa0Ue

Like we said, the internet doesn’t forget.

Michele Tafoya Spent 11 Seasons At NBC

One of the most accomplished sideline reporters in the history of American sports, Tafoya worked at CBS and ABC/ESPN before signing a deal with NBC to work with Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth on “Sunday Night Football.”

With NBC, Tafoya was on the air for four Super Bowl contests: Super Bowl 46 (New York Giants vs. New England Patriots), Super Bowl 49 (Patriots vs. Seattle Seahawks), Super Bowl 52 (Patriots vs. Philadelphia Eagles) and Super Bowl 56 (Los Angeles Rams vs. Cincinnati Bengals).

Tafoya retired from NFL reporting after Super Bowl 56. Michaels, who had been the play-by-play voice for “SNF” since 2006, also left and began a contract with Amazon Prime Video.
