Welcome to Steelers Morning Rush, our new daily short-form podcast with Alan Saunders, giving a longer perspective on a single news topic surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers or the National Football League. Today, it’s the team trading wide receiver George Pickens to the Dallas Cowboys.
They are set to receive a 2026 third-round pick plus a swap of late-round picks in exchange for Pickens, the team’s second-round choice in 2022 who has three-straight 900-yard seasons, but also a litany of outside the whistles offenses.
The team won’t have to deal with the headache of Pickens anymore, and they won’t have to worry about him causing problems about not getting a contract extension this offseason, but they now appear stuck in another season of purgatory at wide receiver.
Alan breaks it down.
