The Denver Broncos hosted the Green Bay Packers in their Week 15 gridiron matchup. A battle of division leaders, this game was a thrilling watch from start to finish. It lived up to its billing of a heavyweight bout. After four quarters, the Broncos defeated the Packers 34-26. He is some instant reactions and takeaways from this afternoon’s game.
Bo Nix delivers the best game of his career
Over the past few weeks, Broncos Country had a right to be encouraged by Bo Nix’s play. He has been far more accurate and efficient than earlier on this season. Today’s performance against the Packers was easily the best of his career. It was monumental effort in front of a hometown crowd and worthy of praise.
Nix was terrific in the first half going 11-of-12 for 122 yards and 2 touchdowns. In order to win bigtime matchups, sometimes you need a little help and production from players you are least expecting to. Michael Bandy and Lil’Jordan Humphrey were on the receiving end of Nix’s passing touchdowns through thirty minutes of play.
The second-year signal caller continued to have the hot hand throughout the second half. He and Courtland Sutton had numerous highlights plays in the third and fourth quarter. Sutton was the recipient of Nix’s third touchdown of the game in the third quarter. But Nix wasn’t done yet, he was able to find Troy Franklin for a 23-yard touchdown strike to put the Broncos up 27-23.
Nix finished the game going 23-of-34 for 303 yards and 4 touchdowns. His ability to escape the rush and make Houdini moves out of the pocket to extend plays was masterful. Make no mistake Broncos Country, Nix had a magnificent performance. He has absolutely been clutch over the past few weeks and I couldn’t be happier.
Broncos’ defense answers the call after troublesome first half performance
There is no doubt the Broncos’ defense has been a bright spot for the team during their 2025 campaign. However, the past few weeks they have started to show some significant regression. Today’s first half performance against the Packers was underwhelming and concerning.
Defensive Vance Coordinator opted to run a heavy dose of man coverage as usual. Unfortunately, Matt LeFleur’s play calling and penchant for motion caused a lot of issues for Denver’s coverage. The Packers were able to score on their first five drives of the game, and the Broncos had no answer for Jordan Love who was 17-of-22 for 215 yards and 1 touchdown in the first half.
Since coming back into the starting lineup, linebacker Alex Singleton has been frequently targeted by opposing teams. That trend continued today, and he was beat for several big plays in coverage. He also missed on Jacobs’ touchdown scamper early in the third quarter.
But it wasn’t just Singleton who struggled. Brandon Jones and Riley Moss also gave up several explosive downfield plays. Love had ample time to throw the ball, as the Broncos’ fearsome pass rush wasn’t able to...
