Insider Benjamin Allbright thinks the Pittsburgh Steelers could trade for Denver Broncos star wide receiver Courtland Sutton this offseason.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been looking to add another legitimate wide receiver since last offseason. Insider Benjamin Allbright believes they could finally do just that in the form of Denver Broncos star Courtland Sutton in the coming weeks.

“I would not be surprised if the Broncos jettison Courtland Sutton, to see Sutton and [George] Pickens pair up, on the outside there in Pittsburgh‚” Allbright said on “The Big Doug and Carmi Show.”

Sutton, 29, is coming off one of the better seasons of his seven-year NFL career. In 2024, he recorded a career-high 81 catches for 1,081 yards and eight touchdowns.

The former second-round pick still has one year left on his four-year $60.8 million contract extension that he signed in 2021, but if the Broncos aren’t willing to pay his $20.2 million cap hit in 2025, a trade could make sense.

It remains to be seen what it would take to acquire Sutton in a trade, but the Steelers would likely be willing to pay his 2025 salary and maybe even extend him to pair him with wide receiver George Pickens in their offense.

Plus, Pittsburgh reportedly already had interest in Sutton last offseason when the team sent a trade offer to the Broncos that was quickly rejected.

That could mean the Broncos are still uninterested in dealing their Pro Bowl wide receiver, especially after a promising rookie season by quarterback Bo Nix. However, if they are comfortable with the rest of their wide receiver room, the Steelers should make the call.

If available, Sutton would be one of the best options this offseason, and that would still be the case even before the Cincinnati Bengals crushed Pittsburgh’s hopes of landing wide receiver Tee Higgins on Monday.
