As San Francisco 49ers star Brandon Aiyuk wants to be on the Washington Commanders, he has proven by his many videos posted to social media that one NFL analyst asks an interesting question about the legality. While fans endlessly anticipate the 49ers’ wide receiver in Aiyuk to post another video, David Lombardi would take to social media to question if the Commanders can take action with it.
Not action in the form of pursuing Aiyuk as a player, but Lombardi questions if Washington could “file tampering charges” against the 28-year-old receiver.
“Maybe we need to think of this in reverse,” Lombardi on X, formerly Twitter. “Can the Commanders file tampering charges against Brandon Aiyuk?”

Aiyuk has made it understood clearly on his many social media posts that he would like to play for the Commanders, almost begging for the 49ers to cut him, as shown in a video on Wednesday.
“If I’m crazy or if I’m cappin’, tell them boys cut me today, and I’ll sign with the Commanders tomorrow. We’ll see who’s cappin’,” Aiyuk said, via Ari Meirov.

Let’s just say that Aiyuk airing out the laundry with the 49ers shows how bad the relationship is currently, as the receiver is currently on a four-year, $120 million contract. However, Aiyuk has been dealing with injuries for a long time now, as the last time he played was during the 2024 season, where he suffered a significant knee injury in October of 2024, which even led him to miss the entire 2025 season.
As it remains to be seen if he’ll play in 2026, the more important question at this point is which team he will play for. The best bet probably isn’t San Francisco.
