Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown emerged as a potential target for the New England Patriots ahead of the Nov. 4 NFL trade deadline.

However, Philadelphia doesn’t seem ready to move off its star receiver. The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported on Saturday that the Eagles have told teams, “We aren’t moving him now.”

Brown has barely contributed to Philadelphia’s offense this season, managing just 274 receiving yards and one touchdown over six games. Although he expressed frustration about his lack of production, it doesn’t seem logical for the Eagles to consider trading him.

Philadelphia is among the top teams in the NFL, aiming to secure its second consecutive Super Bowl title. However, the Eagles’ chances of achieving this goal would diminish if they decide to trade Brown.

Missing out on Brown doesn’t spell disaster for the Patriots, as they still have plenty of other receivers they can target in a trade. New England could consider New Orleans Saints receiver Rashid Shaheed, along with Las Vegas Raiders playmaker Jakobi Meyers.
