NFL insider Albert Breer reveals the Pittsburgh Steelers aren’t the only team interested in New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have reportedly inquired about trading for New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave. However, NFL insider Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated reveals they weren’t the only team to do so.

“The Saints got inquiries from the Browns and Steelers early in the offseason, and rebuffed them, and Olave’s had a really nice offseason since,” Breer writes. “Maybe someone blows New Orleans away with an offer. But he’s not on the block, and I have a hard time thinking he’s going to be traded.”

There are several reasons why the Steelers should and shouldn’t trade for Olave. But if the Saints are willing to deal the former first-round wide receiver, keeping him away from their AFC North rival would be near the top of that list.

When healthy, Olave has been very impressive, recording 191 catches for 2,565 yards and 10 touchdowns through the first three years of his NFL career.

Still, that seems very unlikely to happen, even if New Orleans is entering a rebuild following the surprise retirement of quarterback Derek Carr and new head coach hire of Kellen Moore.

The Saints might not be planning to be competitive for a couple of years, but Olave could still be a part of their future at only 24.

The most likely scenario for Olave to leave New Orleans would be if he were to make things ugly, and he has shown no interest in doing that thus far.

If that were to change, though, Pittsburgh may have to get into a bidding war with Cleveland to improve its roster while also preventing that of its division rival.
