Tony Pauline of Sportskeeda is hearing that Jaylen Waddle of the Miami Dolphins and Calvin Ridley of the Tennessee Titans are on the Pittsburgh Steelers’ radar.
“Two names I am hearing as trade targets are Jaylen Waddle of the Miami Dolphins and Calvin Ridley of the Tennessee Titans,” Pauline reports. “According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Dolphins don’t plan on trading Waddle, but that could change if Miami continues to lose and the right deal is placed in front of them. Waddle’s contract, which has a huge number in 2027, could also be a hurdle teams must overcome. Ridley has not been very productive this season and won’t cost much in terms of draft picks.”
The Steelers also have very strong interest in Jakobi Meyers of the Las Vegas Raiders, according to Pauline.
“The other name to keep an eye on is Jakobi Meyers, who wants out of Las Vegas and whose name has consistently been linked to the Steelers,” Pauline wrote. “Sources tell me there is legitimacy on a Meyers to Pittsburgh deal, though other teams have inquired about the Raiders wide out.”
Meyers recently shared that he still hopes to be dealt with the NFL trade deadline quickly approaching. Meyers requested a trade in August.
“Oh, for sure,” Meyers said via Ryan McFadden of ESPN. “But I’m a professional at the end of the day. I’m just trying to play good football.”
The Steelers showed interest in Meyers after he requested a trade this offseason, but the Raiders refused to trade him, as the team revamped its offense under Carroll by bringing in quarterback Geno Smith and drafting running back Ashton Jeanty.
The Raiders, Dolphins and Titans are all struggling mightily this season. They could be looking to sell.
Waddle is the best receiver of the bunch, but it seems like a long shot that Miami will trade him.
“Several teams have called the Dolphins about star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, and sources say those teams have been told Miami has no interest in trading him,” Ian Rapoport of NFL Network wrote. “Similar to Simmons for Tennessee, dealing Waddle would signal a look to the future rather than trying to win now. While things can change, it seems far more likely Miami would be willing to deal an edge rusher.”
The trade deadline is on Nov. 4 at 4 p.m. ET.
