Detroit Lions starting cornerback Terrion Arnold left Tuesday’s practice early with a hamstring injury.

The Detroit Lions had a relatively short practice to end this week of training camp ahead of their Thursday night preseason game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Despite the short scrimmage, one notable injury happened: starting cornerback Terrion Arnold sat out most of practice after suffering a hamstring injury early during the day. Let’s get into it and all the other injury news.

Still on injury list:

  • LT Taylor Decker (PUP)
  • G Miles Frazier (PUP)
  • DT Alim McNeill (PUP)
  • DT Mekhi Wingo (PUP)
  • EDGE Josh Paschal (NFI)
  • LB Malcolm Rodriguez (PUP)
  • CB Khalil Dorsey (PUP)

None of these seven players returned to the field on Tuesday; however, coach Dan Campbell did offer an update on Josh Paschal.

“I think we’re hoping early September we get him in practice and I think he’s going to need a couple of weeks to practice before we can expect him to play for us,” Campbell said. “So, I don’t really know then, but right now he’s still on schedule to hopefully be ready. He’s on schedule for early September to start practicing.”

Sounds like Paschal may avoid staying on the Non-Football Injury list to start the season, but may not be available in Week 1.

Not practicing:

  • CB Amik Robertson
  • S Kerby Joseph

Campbell offered good news on Kerby Joseph, who has now missed three consecutive practices with a knee injury.

“It’s not major, he just had a little bit of a knee irritation,” Campbell said. “He’ll be good. We’re hoping to get him back Saturday.”

There was no update on Amik Robertson, but he indicated to the media during previous practices that he isn’t worried about his injury.

Limited in practice

  • RB Sione Vaki
  • EDGE Al-Quadin Muhammad
  • CB Ennis Rakestraw
  • S Ian Kennelly

The above players either did not play during the scrimmage reps or were limited. However, all four players were involved in individual drills.

No longer limited

  • LB Alex Anzalone
  • CB D.J. Reed

It appears both Anzalone and Reed have made it through their little nicks and bruises. At one point, Reed got a little banged up and sat out a series. Anzalone appears to have gotten his full first-team defense reps back from Zach Cunningham.

Left practice

  • CB Terrion Arnold

Early in practice, Jared Goff targeted Sam LaPorta on a downfield route with Arnold in coverage. After the ball was overthrown, Arnold got up gingerly and was holding his right upper leg. Arnold spent the rest of practice working with a trainer and remained on the sidelines. The team announced it as a hamstring injury, and Arnold did not speak to reporters when coming off the field.

He was replaced in the lineup by both Rock Ya-Sin and Dicaprio Bootle.
