Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons underwent offseason cleanup surgery on his right elbow, Turron Davenport of ESPN relays. Simmons revealed that the injury rendered him unable to fully extend his arm for a couple of years, which makes his elite production all the more impressive. The 305-pounder earned his fourth straight Pro Bowl nod and a first-team All-Pro selection after tallying career highs in sacks (11) and forced fumbles (three) during a 15-game 2025 campaign. The Titans rewarded Simmons with a market-resetting extension last week. He is now under contract through 2030 on a three-year, $105.8MM deal with $100MM in guaranteed money. If Simmons’ elbow troubles are behind him, he could be even more of a nightmare to deal with for opposing offenses.

- After the Patriots took a cautious approach with oft-injured guard Alijah Vera-Tucker in OTAs, he was essentially a full participant for contested team drills at mandatory minicamp, Karen Guregian of MassLive.com reports. Although a litany of injuries held Vera-Tucker to 43 of a possible 85 games with the Jets from 2021-25, he flashed enough when healthy for the Patriots to take a three-year, $42MM gamble on him in free agency this past March. Vera-Tucker, who missed all of last year with a torn triceps, will serve as the Pats’ starting left guard.
- The Buccaneers took a serious hit when they lost No. 1 right guard Cody Mauch to a season-ending knee injury in Week 2 last season. Mauch’s meniscus tear is in the rearview mirror nine months later, as the fourth-year man is now back to full strength (via Sean Smith of the team’s website). Since joining the Bucs as a second-round pick in 2023, Mauch has started in all of his 36 regular-season appearances. He played 100% of offensive snaps as a rookie and over 99% in 2024. The injury came at an especially unfortunate time for Mauch, who could have been a candidate for a lucrative extension this offseason had he stayed healthy in 2025. As things stand, he is entering the last season of his rookie contract.
- Panthers outside linebacker Thomas Incoom had an offseason cleanup surgery to repair an undisclosed injury, head coach Dave Canales announced (via Joe Person of The Athletic). Canales expects Incoom back for training camp. During his first 17-game season in 2025, the three-year veteran from Ghana led the Panthers with an 85.19% special teams snap share. On the other hand, Incoom played just 25 defensive snaps. He totaled a career-high 17 tackles, including 10 on special teams.
