On Sunday, Kansas City will be trying for its third consecutive Super Bowl appearance.
On Sunday evening, the Kansas City Chiefs will play in their seventh consecutive AFC Championship. The back-to-back Super Bowl champions will host the Buffalo Bills on GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. The winner will represent the conference at Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, February 9 at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Sunday’s kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. Arrowhead Time. The game will be broadcast on CBS — locally on KCTV/5.
This will be the fourth time these two teams have played for the right to appear in a Super Bowl. In the 1966 postseason, Kansas City beat Buffalo 31-7 to advance to the AFL-NFL Championship — later dubbed Super Bowl I. In the 1993 playoffs, the Bills defeated the Chiefs 30-13 to qualify for Super Bowl XXVIII. After the 2020 season, Kansas City moved on to Super Bowl LV with a 38-24 win over Buffalo.
Since then, the Chiefs have defeated the Bills in two Divisional matchups: 2021’s 42-36 overtime win at Arrowhead and last season’s 27-24 victory at Highmark Stadium in Buffalo. But the Bills have recorded four straight regular-season wins against Kansas City — including Week 11’s 30-21 home victory that snapped the Chiefs’ 15-game winning streak.
