In Appreciation of DeVonta Smith’s Resume

At Eagles Reddit, u/clovergzzzz shared this Wikipedia screengrab of DeVonta Smith’s resume:

26 years old. Smitty has a Super Bowl ring and won two titles with Bama. Not to mention, in four NFL regular seasons he already has 4,000 receiving yards and 27 touchdowns, then you add the 595 postseason yards and two scores as well.

To explain some of those other awards:

• Maxwell Award – best player in college football, basically a different voting panel than the Heisman
• Walter Camp Award – college football player of the year, again, just a different group of voters than the other two
• Biletnikoff – best receiver in college football
• Paul Hornung Award – goes to the most versatile college football player, Smitty won it due to his dual role as a receiver and returner

The rest speaks for itself. Smitty beat out Trevor Lawrence, Mac Jones, and Kyle Trask for the Heisman. He nipped Elijah Moore and Kyle Pitts for the Biletnikoff. And he’s been total class in each of the title games he played, scoring a 41-yard TD as a Bama freshman against Georgia, then going for 215 yards and three scores against Ohio State. He finished Super Bowl 59 with four receptions for 69 yards and a touchdown. Baller.
