The New Orleans Saints are hitting the road for the first time this season as they visit the Seattle Seahawks. Here’s a quick look at what either outcome would mean for the black and gold.
Spencer Rattler has looked good in the first two games of 2025. A win here would mean a deserved first victory for the second-year quarterback, as he’ll likely need to continue his strong play if the Saints are to come away on top.
It would also mark Kellen Moore’s first win as head coach and lift the spirits of everyone involved after two such narrow defeats to begin the season. Just as was said before the San Francisco game we just watched, if the Saints win here, it’ll be a gutsy upset victory against a team with playoff aspirations.
While a win doesn’t appear to be on the cards – the Seahawks opened as 7.5-point favorites – the Saints have shown no shortage of fight and resolve and will no doubt make this a game. Pulling it off will begin with Rattler, but it will require a great performance on both sides of the football.
A loss for the black and gold would further set in stone the outlook for the team this season as one that will pick very high in next year’s draft.
While there’s been no shortage of positives despite the 0-2 start, that may become the story of the season: Silver linings without wins to show for it.
Should the Saints be in with a chance late on, as they have been in these previous two games, no one will be too shocked or upset regardless of whether they get it done. But of course, finding a way to win this one on the road is the ultimate goal.
