The New Orleans Saints are hitting the road again as they visit the Los Angeles Rams in SoFi Stadium on Sunday. Here’s what either outcome could mean.
A victory for the black and gold would be the upset of the weekend in the NFL. The 5-2 Rams are huge home favorites; they’ve won three of their last four, including a demolition of the Jaguars in London.
If the Saints are able to pull off a win in Tyler Shough’s first NFL start, they’ll need to catch LA on a bad day while putting together their best performance of the season. It would be some way for Kellen Moore to grab his first road win as a head coach.
A win would also mark the franchise’s first win in SoFi Stadium, where they’ve so far failed to overcome either the Chargers or the Rams.
The most important aspect of a potential loss for New Orleans for many fans would be the maintenance of the first overall pick in the 2026 Draft, which the Saints would hold if the season ended today.
There have been many a moral victory for the black and gold this season, and no one is opposed to seeing more silver linings as the losses stack up. Regardless of the result, we’ll be hoping to see strong individual performances and the penalties cleaned up.
