Canal Street Chronicles
The New Orleans Saints carry their first multi-game winning streak of the season into Week 16 as they host the New York Jets. Here’s a preview of what either outcome could mean for the black and gold on Sunday.
A win – which would mark three straight for the Saints and a 4-3 record for Tyler Shough as starting quarterback – builds on the existing momentum within the organization as the team looks to next season and beyond.
For a 4-10 squad, the feel-good factor is certainly there in abundance at the moment. Beating a Jets team that New Orleans is more than capable of overcoming would mark another step in the right direction for the black and gold, albeit at the expense of draft position.
And as is the case every week at this stage, the flip side of that coin is the improved draft position that comes with defeat. That being said, dropping a game at home to this New York squad would certainly be disappointing.
The Saints are the betting favorites, and a loss would surely sour some of the progress that’s been felt in recent weeks against divisional opposition.
