The Cleveland Browns found success in week one of the 2025 preseason against the Carolina Panthers last week, and now they set their sights on the Philadelphia Eagles. Before then, we’re going to release a brand new 53-man roster prediction based on the performances of players in the team’s first preseason victory.
Yes, it really only affects the depth-level players at the bottom of the roster, but Cleveland has a bad history of needing those types of players to produce during the season.
If the preseason games meant anything at all to the status of certain players, this is how the current 53-man roster projection would look:

- For argument’s sake, four quarterbacks are listed on the roster because they’ve done it before, and Kevin Stefanski said that they could do it again in 2025.
- Though Ahmani Marshall looked excellent against Carolina, the offensive staff has shown that they’ve favored Pierre Strong over some other recent UDFA running backs in the past.
- Luke Floriea, unfortunately, suffered a decent-sized hamstring injury and was released on Monday. He might be back on the practice squad, but Gage Larvadain locks in his spot as WR6.
- Brenden Bates has looked good in practice, but Blake Whiteheart has shown that he’s a more versatile player at tight end.
- Jackson Barton has looked pretty good as the backup right tackle, and it would be incredibly surprising to see the team only keep nine offensive linemen in 2025. Barton should make the team as the 10th guy in the offensive line room.
