A Minnesota Vikings fan struck gold with these last-minute tickets that had him in the most lit section of the stadium. Then he found out what else they came with.

His viral video documenting the experience has other football fans reconsidering their ticket-buying strategies, so he shares exactly what he did to get the NFL seats for just a fourth of the price.

If you’re risk-averse, this might not be the advice for you.

Vikings Fan Accidentally Buys Club Seats

In a trending video with more than 150,000 views, content creator Drew (@_drews) captured the moment he realized he got an incredible deal on football tickets.

“Somehow, we managed to buy club tickets accidentally. We didn’t realize what they were until we got here, and the lady goes, ‘Free food and beer, just make sure you eat food.’”

“I did a double take on the beer part. Like, that’s wild,” he said, estimating that he’d have to drink about 27 beers to recoup the cost of the tickets.

In the caption Drew shared that he and his brother paid $370 per ticket after fees. Meanwhile, the people sitting next to them had shelled out $1,200 per ticket for the same seats.

But the outing wasn’t all good. Drew’s team ended up taking an L that game.

“The beer for sure helped numb the pain of an embarrassing loss,” Drew said.

How Much Beer Did He End Up Drinking?

In a follow-up, Drew ended up consuming approximately 12 beers plus steak nachos during the game, which felt more than worth it for him.

According to VinePair, beer prices at the Minnesota Viking’s stadium run approximately $8.05 for a 16-ounce serving (making Minnesota one of the more affordable stadiums for beer in the league; in most other cities beer goes for $12 and up).

At $8.05 per beer, Drew would have needed to consume 46 beers to equal his $370 ticket cost. Now, that’s a dangerous amount to consume, but his 12 beers still represent about $96.60 in free beverages.

How To Get Premium Seats At A Discount

In a follow-up video, Drew explained that he wanted to wait until kickoff to buy tickets since he’d heard advice from people who’d scored $400 tickets for $100.

“Why not? If we’re gonna spend $400, we could probably get some killer deal,” Drew pointed out.

They compromised due to his brother’s anxiety about waiting and bought the tickets at 5 p.m. While they were relaxing at his brother’s apartment.

Drew and his brother ended up in the second row of the club section with access to unlimited beer and food. Drew said the only thing he regrets is not exploring the full cafeteria area downstairs, where he spotted barbecue mac and cheese with pulled pork. Still, the steak nachos and beer more than satisfied him.

Drew acknowledged the risk of his strategy.

“I mean, you might get screwed and not get a decent ticket,” he says. “I was completely fine with...
