The results of our latest SB Nation Reacts survey are in, and as expected, the voting wasn’t close.
Earlier this week, we published our latest SB Nation Reacts surveys, asking Detroit Lions fans if they believe running back Jahmyr Gibbs will exceed his projected 2025 rushing totals, utilizing the betting lines established by the folks over at FanDuel Sportsbook.
Gibbs’ NFL career has been off to a stellar start. As a rookie, he produced 945 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns, then followed it up with 1,412 rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns last year.
However, the folks at FanDuel Sportsbook have set the betting line at a conservative 1075.5 rushing yards and 10.5 rushing touchdowns.
At first glance, the projection seems entirely reasonable, but before you rush out and make your wagers, it’s important to consider that running backs are frequently injured in the NFL, and Gibbs' usage in the passing game is expected to significantly increase.
But Lions fans aren’t too worried about Gibbs being able to produce. Based on the results of this week’s surveys, 93% of voters believe he’ll surpass his rushing projection, and another 84% think he’ll exceed his rushing touchdown totals.
Let’s look at the comment section of our original survey to allow Lions fans to explain their reactions and voting choices (slightly edited for clarity):
