After Artie Burns and Tre Brown signed elsewhere in free agency, Seattle brought back 2017 third round pick Griffin for a veteran presence in the secondary, and here are the details of his contract.

In the run up to the Seattle Seahawks reporting to training camp next week for the second season under Mike Macdonald, the team recently signed free agent cornerback Shaquill Griffin.

With that said, the details of the one-year contract the soon-to-be 30 year old Griffin signed with the Hawks ahead of the Fourth of July weekend have now been shared by OverTheCap.com, and are as follows:

  • Base Salary: $1,740,000 (of which $1,000,000 is fully guaranteed)
  • Signing Bonus: $750,000
  • Per Game Roster Bonus: $510,000
  • Total Cap Hit: $3,000,000

Before someone heads to the comments section to inquire about the per game roster bonus, the $510,000 listed is the total amount that Griffin can earn if he is active for all 17 games of the regular season. This is the total amount, and is comprised of $30,000 for each game which he is on the 48-man gameday active roster.

Since Griffin saw game action in all 17 games for the Minnesota Vikings in 2024, the full amount of $510,000 will count against the salary cap for the Seahawks in 2025, with Seattle receiving any credits for games missed by Griffin on the 2026 salary cap when it is calculated by the league.
