Pats Pulpit
The New England Patriots’ win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday was a costly one. While they did manage to improve to 10-2 and move into sole possession of the top seed in the AFC, they did so at a cost.
Left tackle Will Campbell and left guard Jared Wilson both suffered injuries in the game, and will miss time as a consequence. Campbell sprained his MCL in the third quarter of the 26-20 win, and is expected to be out multiple weeks. Wilson, meanwhile, suffered a high ankle sprain on the game’s third snap and is considered week-to-week.
In addition, the team also saw core special teamer Brenden Schooler and defensive tackle Khyiris Tonga go down with ankle and chest injuries, respectively. Neither was able to finish the game.
Given the number and quality of the injured players, one could speak of a pyrrhic victory. How do you feel about it, though? Has your optimism for the team changed in light of Campbell and company going down?
