Let’s take a look at how things stack up in the AFC East before the season according to our partner, FanDuel Sportsbook.
Unsurprisingly, the Buffalo Bills are the favorites in the division currently at -270. Buffalo is currently the heaviest favorite in any of the league’s eight divisions. The second choice is the New England Patriots at +550. It’s no surprise to see New England in the second position. The Patriots had a busy offseason and plenty of hype with new head coach Mike Vrabel and second year quarterback Drake Maye. In the third spot is the Miami Dolphins at +700. Finally come the Jets at +1600.
I don’t think any of this is particularly surprising. Short of a major injury, the preseason was not going to change things. People are high on the Bills and low on the Jets. That was always going to be the case. The Jets’ new look offense likely wasn’t revealed much during the exhibition season. Can it catch the league by surprise? Can the Jets challenge for the division? Probably not, but we will still be watching when the 2025 season kicks off next weekend.
