The Jets offensive line was half good
Just about any New York Jets fan will tell you that the 2024 New York Jets offensive line was a vast improvement from 2023. What was once a sieve looked competent, and the general youth and contract duration of the offensive linemen give reason to think that this competence might be sustainable.
Just how good was the offensive line in 2024? Beyond that, where were they good? To answer that, we can check out this handy little chart put together by @PattonAnalytics on X.
For interpretation, teams further right are better at pass blocking and teams further up are better at run blocking. As shown here, the New York Jets are in the bottom right hand quadrant, which denotes good pass protection and bad run blocking. This implies that there is still ample room for improvement and that the Jets might be well-suited to consider adding a strong run blocker to their unit via free agency or the draft.
