Just when the Houston Texans thought things couldn’t get any worse, they most certainly did.

On Sunday, CJ Stroud had an even worse game than he did against the Steelers, and that’s saying something. Stroud’s turnover-prone performance on Sunday came a week after he threw an interception and had five fumbles.

He is the first quarterback to have five fumbles and five interceptions in a postseason since at least 1991. The Texans quarterback entered this year’s NFL playoffs regarded as one of the better signal-callers. No one thinks of him as that anymore. Many fans pointed to his advice to Caleb Williams as the turning point in his career.

In Foxborough, the Houston Texans QB couldn’t take care of the ball. The quarterback threw a whopping four first-half interceptions to put his total at five for the postseason. After the game, he took the blame for the loss.

Stroud became the first player ever to total at least five picks and five fumbles in one playoff run, per NFL researcher Tony Holzman-Escareno.

The news only got worse for him and the Texans.

The Houston Texans Are Still In The Air

Houston, we have a problem. The Houston Texans have had even more time to stew over their 28-16 loss to the New England Patriots.

The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported Monday that the Texans’ plane was “still in the air” due to delays on their trip back home. She tweeted that information at 7:56 a.m. ET.

The Texans are still trying to get back to Houston after yesterday afternoon’s game, dealing with weather delays and other travel complications.

Based on flight-tracking data, the plane finally touched down in Houston at 7:15 a.m. CT. That comes 14 hours after their game ended on Saturday. The team was originally scheduled to depart from Providence, Rhode Island. That flight was first delayed and then diverted to Newark Liberty International Airport while in the air.

The Houston Texans didn’t take off from there until 4:37 a.m. ET. Now the team can relax and sulk over what happened in the final game of the year.
