Happy Minnesota Vikings game day, ladies and gentlemen! Yes, even though this game doesn’t really count for anything in the long run, we’re still going to get a chance to see the purple take the field for the first time since January as they host the Houston Texans in the 2025 preseason opener. We want to make sure that everyone who wants to follow this one knows where they can find the action, so we’re putting it all in one place for you.
Kickoff time for this one from U.S. Bank Stadium is slated for today, Saturday, 9 August, at 3:00 PM Central time. The game will be televised live nationwide on the NFL Network. Be advised that there are several local television stations that will be airing the game, and those stations are listed below. If you are in the area of one of those stations, you will be able to find the game there rather than on the NFL Network. The commentary will be provided as a simulcast with the Vikings Radio Network, featuring Paul Allen and Pete Bercich.
Conversely, if you’re in any of the cities below listed as local affiliates for the Texans, you will receive their broadcast, led by Kevin Kugler, N.D. Kalu, and John Harris.
If you are not in any of those cities, check your local cable, satellite, or streaming listings to determine how to find the NFL Network.
If you’re going to be traveling around the upper Midwest or just prefer to listen on the radio, we have a full list of the Vikings Radio Network affiliates that we have updated for the 2025 season. If you have satellite radio, you can check out the Vikings feed on NFL Radio, which is Channel 88 on both the Sirius and XM dials. If you’re using the SiriusXM app, the Vikings’ permanent home there is Channel 820.
While it doesn’t make a whole lot of difference for preseason games, the officiating crew for today’s contest will be led by Brad Allen, per the folks from Football Zebras.
