The Denver Broncos will make bolstering their offensive a priority this offseason. But what position on offense does Broncos Country believe needs to be upgrade the most?
Good morning, Broncos Country.
Now that the regular season is over, the Denver Broncos will leave no stone unturned in their pursuit of building a championship caliber roster. The offense’s future looks bright with quarterback Bo Nix at the helm, but upgrading the talent around him is a must moving forward.
I’m operating under the premise that the Broncos’ starting offensive line is set in stone for the 2025 season. That would leave running back, tight end, and wide receiver as the main position groups to be addressed via free agency or in the 2025 NFL Draft.
We all know the Broncos’ struggled to run the ball consistently in 2025. The production from their tight ends was among the worst in the National Football League. And last but not least, their second-leading receiver had just 41 catches on the season. While they do have youth and talent at the position that will undoubtedly getting better, it’s probably a fair assessment that they don’t have a potential high-volume share difference maker at any of those positions.
Which leads me to ask fans—what position group out of the three needs to be upgraded the most? In my opinion, it’s their running back stable. With Javonte Williams being a free agent, the team will likely be in the mix to find a starting caliber back this offseason. While Williams wasn’t as productive as we had hoped for in 2024, he was still the team’s leading rusher and was second in receptions. That’s a significant number of snaps to be replaced.
Out of any position, the length to impact at the running back position is the soonest for any of those prospects. While some tight ends and receivers are highly productive in their first seasons, most that are drafted don’t make quite the impact as a first-year runner can. I believe a strong rushing attack with a top-notch back would make all the difference for Nix and the offense next season.
