With high profile free agents hitting the market, the Denver Broncos need to focus on solid moves that build the team one block at a time.
With names like Cooper Kupp and Myles Garrett hitting the free agent market, there are, of course, knee-jerk reactions swirling about the Broncos getting in on the action.
The good news for Broncos Country is that while we may like to chatter about big-name free agents, the team is in the well-capable hands of Sean Payton and George Paton.
I don’t think for a second that at aging edge player who deserves a premium contract or a aging wide receiver who’s best days are behind him are going to move the needle for this team.
I do think we’ll see some free agent action this offseason, but it will likely be more solid free agent choices like what the team did last offseason bringing in safety Brandon Jones.
They do have money to spend, but if they are going to be splashy, it I’d think they’d target a younger offensive player who can help be a difference-maker and put points on the board.
Other than that, I see the team really dialing in on continuing their draft success and finding some more impact players with a finally full regiment of draft picks covering all days of the draft.
