According to Pro Football Focus, Patrick Surtain II, Quinn Meinerz, and Courtland Sutton are the top three players on the Denver Broncos.
Good morning, Broncos Country.
It’s the dearth days of the offseason. The NFL Draft is over, the 2025 schedule has been released, and we are quite a way out from OTAs and training camp.
With little big news outside of proposed rule changes and votes by teams covered in the links below, there isn’t a whole lot to write home about. Though one thing did pop on my radar. That would be Pro Football Focus kickstarting their offseason roster and position rankings for teams across the National Football League.
As many of you remember, PFF wasn’t very nice in their critique of the Denver Broncos last offseason. In fact, they had their roster rated as the worst in all of football. Head Coach Sean Payton and his players blew that out of the water by notching 10 wins and making the playoffs for the first time in nearly a decade. Yesterday, Pro Football Focus released its rankings of the Top 3 players for every team in the National Football League.
According to Trevor Sikkema, the following trio are the best the Broncos have to offer: cornerback Patrick Surtain II, right guard Quinn Meinerz, and wide receiver Courtland Sutton. Of note, it’s worth mentioning Sikkema also had Sutton as the 31st ranked receiver in the league. Which begs the question, is the 31st best receiver in football really a top three player for the Broncos? Your mileage may vary, but that seems a little odd to me.
I would agree that Surtain and Meinerz are two of the best players on the team. Surtain is the reigning Defensive Player of the Year and Meinerz proved to be one of the best guards in football last season with his All-Pro campaign. And while I think Sutton is a quality player, I’d likely place a few other players ahead of him—in particular defensive lineman Zach Allen—who was an absolute monster in the trenches for the Broncos last season.
What do you think, Broncos Country? Who makes your Top 3 players list for the Broncos?
As always, thank you for reading. Here is today’s slate of articles for Horse Tracks.
