Horse Tracks: Camp accolades piling up for Bo Nix

Horse Tracks: Camp accolades piling up for Bo Nix
Mile High Report Mile High Report

The hype machine is already at midseason form.

With vets having reported within the last week, Broncos training camp for 2025 is well underway. As Denver enters Day 3, one storyline seems to be bubbling to the top: Bo Nix is looking great.

“First and foremost I think he’s just a smart player, but then it’s like you get on the field and you see how accurate he is, what kind of arm he has. I think that - especially the first day of OTA’s that first ball was over everybody’s head. And I was like ‘wow’. You have to account for those kind of things. Not every game in the NFL are you going to play a Quarterback that can launch it that far.”

New Bronco Talanoa Hufanga didn’t hold back when asked about Nix last week. TE Adam Trautman was also impressed when he spoke to Denver Sports’ Andrew Mason.

Nix seems to be approaching this season with an immense amount of confidence.

“I just want to continue to show these guys that I’m willing to work, and find every which way we can to find wins and find every which way for me to get better,” Nix said. “I know I have a lot of growth left, a lot to be done, but these guys are going to help me get there. We’re just out here just kind of sharpening each other, going best-on-best and just finding ways to make each other better. It’s fun.”

Is that an “iron sharpens iron” reference? Who doesn’t love the subtle nod to the motto of the 2015 Super Bowl season? Break out the tee shirts!

You have to give credit to Nix for starting camp and the 2025 season off the right way. His mindset seems right and his teammates have noticed. As day 3 begins in Denver, things at the quarterback position are humming along, maybe better than expected. Sure, there will be challenges as camp progresses and the season begins, but as a Broncos fan, you have to be encouraged by all reports on Bo Nix.
