Horse Tracks: Broncos’ scouting guru Brian Stark is heading to the Raiders
Mile High Report Mile High Report

After thirteen seasons with the Denver Broncos, Director of College Scouting Brian Stark was tabbed as the next Assistant General Manager of the Las Vegas Raiders.

Good morning, Broncos Country.

Over the past several off-season's, a handful of coaches and personnel executives from the Denver Broncos have earned promotions elsewhere. And with their 2025 NFL Draft efforts complete, yet another has been lured away from the team to a division rival.

According to NFL Insider Albert Breer, longtime scouting guru Brian Stark is being hired by the Las Vegas Raiders to become their new Assistant General Manager. Stark played an integral role with the Broncos’ scouting and draft endeavors over the years. He held the title of Director of College Scouting for the past nine years, though spent thirteen years in the Mile High City.

Current Raiders’ General Manager John Spytek has a strong familiarity with Stark. The two worked alongside each other from 2013-2015 with the Broncos early on in their front office careers. Stark will also join former Broncos’ front office executive Mark Thewes, who was hired by Las Vegas last offseason.

In addition to that vacancy needing to be filled, the Broncos likely be adding a new assistant general manager as well. Long-time front office executive Darren Mougey was hired away by the New York Jets to be their General Manager earlier this year. It will be interesting to see if they choose to promote someone in house or pursue respected executives from other franchises.

Either way, congratulations to Starks on a well-deserved promotion. Let’s hope the Broncos can find a suitable replacement in the near future.

As always, thank you for reading. Here is today’s slate of articles for Horse Tracks.
