Horse Tracks: Broncos desperately need to upgrade tight end position
Mile High Report Mile High Report

If the Denver Broncos want Bo Nix to succeed in year two, they are going to need to add some help to the tight end room.

Throughout the 2024 season for the Denver Broncos, we rarely noticed the tight end position outside of a few exceptional plays β€” that included one-handed touchdown grabs. The focus was mostly on the complete lack of a rushing attack that seemed to hamper Bo Nix and the offense through stretches of games.

Our own Joe Mahoney posted this on X yesterday and the statistical nightmare was around the tight end position, not the running back position. Outside of tight ends like Adam Trautman having a nose for making plays in the end zone, the tight end group did absolutely nothing exceptional all season long.

Seeing this graphic was enough to put tight end right up there against running back as the team’s biggest positional need heading into free agency and the 2025 NFL Draft. Personally, I like the running back class in the draft more than I like the tight end class, but good tight ends are rarely found in free agency.
