CHICAGO — Outside linebacker Alex Highsmith leads the Pittsburgh Steelers inactive players for Sunday’s Week 12 road game against the Chicago Bears.
Highsmith was listed as doubtful to play with a pectoral injury. He’ll miss his second consecutive game with the injury. Nick Herbig will once again replace him at right outside linebacker, with Jack Sawyer serving as the lone backup.
The other Steelers player with an injury status entering the game, quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who was questionable with a left wrist injury, is also inactive. Mason Rudolph will start at quarterback. Rookie Will Howard will serve as the team’s primary and only backup at quarterback for the game.
Three other Steelers players are healthy scratches: defensive tackle Brodrick Martin, defensive tackle Logan Lee and offensive tackle Andrus Peat.
The Steelers did not elevate any players from the practice squad for Sunday’s game, including veterans Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Asante Samuel Jr.
The Bears got even more bad injury news on Sunday, as left tackle Theo Benedet, who was listed as questionable, is also inactive. Rookie Ozzy Trapillo will start at left tacle. The Bears were already missing three linebackers and top cornerback Jaylon Johnson.
