Josh Allen took home the MVP award at the NFL Honors on Thursday night, and while the Buffalo Bills quarterback was able to keep his emotions in check during his speech, a compilation of congratulatory messages from kids in the Buffalo children’s hospital ultimately brought him to tears.
After Josh Allen won the MVP award, somewhat upsetting Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, the Buffalo Bills consistently excellent social media shared a video of kids at the Oishei Children’s Hospital sending heartfelt congratulatory messages.
Allen worked with the Oishei Children’s Hospital to develop the The Patricia Allen Fund, named after his late grandmother. The Patricia Allen Fund “benefits the critical care teams at Oishei Children’s Hospital” with 100% of donations going towards the care of Western New York’s kids and families.
We’re all so proud of you.

The Bills then shared a follow-up, even more emotional video that featured Allen reacting to the kind words from the Oishei Children’s Hospital kids in real time. Allen’s connection to these kids clearly isn’t some PR stunt, either, as he seemed to recognize all of them and recall their names as they appeared on screen.

In his NFL MVP season, Allen completed 63.6% of his passes for 3,731 yards, 28 touchdowns, and a career low six interceptions, while also carrying the ball 102 times for 531 yards and 12 touchdowns en route to leading the Bills to a 13-4 record and AFC East title.
In addition to winning the NFL MVP award, Allen also recently got engaged to actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld, making it quite the year for the 28-year-old signal caller.
