Blogging The Boys Blogging The Boys

The Dallas Cowboys aimed for a fresh start in 2025, but the results were pretty much the same as a season ago. Sadly, the Cowboys ended up with yet another losing season for the second year in a row. For consecutive years they’ve only managed to win a total of seven games. and they’ll need to make some major moves in the offseason to prevent that from happening yet again.

As disappointing as the 2025 season was for the Cowboys, there were some bright spots that kept us locked in and entertained throughout the year. We’re highlighting some of those bright spots by handing out some individual awards to some of the players who had outstanding seasons, despite the teams overall disappointing lack of success this year.

MVP – Dak Prescott

After only managing to play eight total games in 2024 due to injury, Dak Prescott responded in a big way in 2025 starting every single game and arguably had one of the best, if not the best, seasons of his career to date in 2025. Prescott threw for a total of 4,552 passing yards and 30 total touchdowns to just 10 interceptions this season. He ended up third in the league in passing yards and forth in total touchdowns, proving he’s still one of the top QBs. His impressive performance this year earned him his fourth Pro Bowl nomination.

Offensive MVP – George Pickens

Javonte Williams deserves a shout out here, but George Pickens is clearly the obvious choice to be the Cowboys offensive MVP this year. He not only led the team in receiving yards (1,429) and touchdowns (9), but also finished third in the league behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Puka Nacua in receiving yards as well. His performance this season now has him headed to the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career and has set him up to to earn a big money contract in the offseason as the league’s top free agent wide receiver.

Defensive MVP – Quinnen Williams

Quinnen Williams may not have started the season with the Cowboys, arriving in early November after the NFL trade deadline, but in a short time in Dallas he established himself as their best defensive player. He was brought into improve Dallas’ run defense and upgrade the defensive line as a whole, and did just that. His stats of course aren’t going to blow you away, but his performance with both the Jets and the Cowboys this year did earn him his fourth consecutive Pro Bowl bid.

Rookie of the Year – Tyler Booker

Tyler Booker edges out Donovan Ezeiruaku for the Cowboys Rookie of the Year award. While Ezeiruaku had a good solid rookie season he should be able to build upon, Booker’s ability to replace Zack Martin at left guard this year and solidify the position was pretty impressive. There were some growing pains throughout the season, but Booker also approved he can be dominant as both a run...
