Former Chicago Bears linebacker and Hall of Famer Brian Urlacher used to play Aaron Rodgers twice a year in the NFC North, so he knows all about the four-time NFL MVP.
Despite being foes for a number of years, Urlacher is a big fan of Rodgers — both as a player and person.
“I’m an Aaron Rodgers fan,” he said on 670 The Score. “People can get mad at me if they want to. I like the way he plays. I like what he stands for. I like what he says. I’m a fan.”
The Steelers’ projected win total is set at 8.5, but Urlacher has high expectations for Rodgers and Pittsburgh this season.
“I would say 11, 12 wins,” Urlacher said when asked about the outlook for the Steelers’ 2025 season. “[Mike] Tomlin’s never finished under .500. I don’t see that happening this year.”
Rodgers had a season-ending Achilles injury in 2023, but with being two years removed from the injury, Urlacher expects big things from the 41-year-old quarterback.
“As a football fan, I want to see what he can do with that team,” he said. “They got a great defense. They have DK Metcalf. They’ve got some guys on offense that can play. If Aaron comes back two years after the Achilles injury the way we think he will, I think he’ll have a good season.”
Brian Urlacher believes Aaron Rodgers could lead the Steelers to an 11-win or 12-win season in 2025.

Rodgers is on the verge of breaking several NFL milestones in his 21st season. He needs just 1,337 passing yards to surpass Ben Roethlisberger for the fifth-most all-time, and needs six passing touchdowns to surpass Brett Favre for fourth-most all-time.
The significant milestones could have played a part in Rodgers making one last run. But the main thing seems to be that he didn’t want to leave on a bad note, as his two-year tenure with the New York Jets was an absolute disaster. He also gets a chance to play for a historic franchise and a future Hall of Fame head coach in Mike Tomlin.
During an interview with NBC Sports at the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship on Sunday, Rodgers explained what he’s most excited about heading into his 21st season in the NFL. Ending his career on a positive note and playing for Mike Tomlin are a part of the equation.
“Well, I just like the newness of it all,” Rodgers said. “I’m excited about being such at a such great franchise with the Hall of Fame head coach and [Mike Tomlin] and I’ve enjoyed getting to know Arthur Smith, our coordinator, the quarterback coach actually was in my quarterbacks room a million years ago. I’ve known Tom Arth since we were young kids without any gray. So it’s fun.
