Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings: Initial Injury Reports
Daily Norseman Daily Norseman

The final game of the 2025 regular season for our Minnesota Vikings is officially within sight, as the first injury reports for the week have been released. Let’s take a look at who’s dealing with issues and what capacity they’re practicing in (or not practicing in).

Green Bay Packers

  • WR Dontayvion Wicks – DNP (concussion)
  • G Aaron Banks – Limited (illness/ankle)
  • LB Edgerrin Cooper – Limited (shoulder)
  • RB Josh Jacobs – Limited (knee/ankle)
  • LB Nick Niemann* – Limited (pectoral)
  • WR Jayden Reed – Limited (illness)
  • OL Zach Tom – Limited (back/knee)
  • DL Lukas Van Ness – Limited (illness/foot)
  • G John Williams* – Limited (back)
  • WR Savion Williams – Limited (foot/illness)
  • QB Malik Willis – Limited (right shoulder/hamstring)
  • QB Jordan Love – Full (left shoulder/concussion)

As we mentioned earlier in the week, there’s a pretty good chance that the Packers will be resting a lot of key players in this one since they can’t improve their seeing in the NFC playoff race and need to prepare for a trip to either Chicago or Philadelphia on Wild Card Weekend. If neither Love nor Willis takes the field, the Packers could turn to Clayton “Name That” Tune to start at quarterback on Sunday. Niemann is returning from IR and John Williams is coming back from the PUP list, so the Packers might activate one or both of them to give them some work before the playoffs, but I wouldn’t expect any of the really important names on this list to suit up for the Packers on Sunday.

Minnesota Vikings

  • TE T.J. Hockenson – DNP (shoulder)
  • RB Aaron Jones – DNP (hip)
  • WR Myles Price – DNP (ankle)
  • LB Blake Cashman – Limited (elbow)
  • RB Jordan Mason – Limited (ankle)
  • QB J.J. McCarthy – Limited (right hand)
  • OT Brian O’Neill – Limited (heel)
  • DL Levi Drake Rodriguez – Limited (rib)
  • S Harrison Smith – Limited (rest day)
  • TE Gavin Bartholomew* – Full (back)

Everyone will be keeping an eye on McCarthy, obviously. At the Vikings’ press conference on Wednesday, McCarthy said he felt like the ball was “spinning” in practice, but that they were taking things day by day. (Aren’t we all, J.J.?) I think if the Vikings can get McCarthy out there on Sunday, they’re going to, just to get him some more reps. Hey, why not, right? We’ll see if the team gives Bartholomew an opportunity to suit up for a game after missing the entire season to this point. The team also signed former Raiders running back Sincere McCormick to the practice squad earlier in the day. Hardcastle was unavailable for comment.

Those are your first injury reports of the week, folks. We’ll keep an eye on things here and see how these progress over the next couple of days leading up to the regular season finale.
