Kyle Shanahan previews 49ers-Cardinals Week 11 matchup
“”Not on Thursdays. We have to by a certain time. I think we’re allowed 15, so I think we always stop then. A lot of times on Thursdays we’ll get two periods in and take them off the second two. Most of the time, it depends on who I have on the team, but usually guys don’t like that. Like [T] Trent [Williams] never wants to take the pads off once they’re on. It’s just more annoying for them. You practice a little bit differently as the year goes, whether you have pads on or off, but that’s something we usually do like the last five week.“
49ers’ Brock Purdy intensifying practice work ahead of possible Week 11 return
““(We) want three aggressive practices and want to make sure he feels good after all of them each day, too,” Shanahan said.“
What should 49ers fans hope for amid another injury-plagued season? Mailbag (paywall)
“We don’t see him around the locker room as much as we used to, and Shanahan would only say he thought Aiyuk’s practice window would open up before the end of the season, not that he would be back for a game. If Aiyuk’s not on the practice field by the Week 14 bye, what’s the point?”
49ers’ Brock Purdy trending toward return Sunday, getting first-team practice reps (paywall)
“Shanahan has repeatedly acknowledged in recent weeks that Purdy’s toe is unlikely to fully heal this season. But if he does return, which seems more a matter of when than if at this point, Shanahan confirmed that Purdy will not be asked to tone down his mobility for fear of aggravating the injury a second time.”
