How Kalia Davis stepping up with ‘good camp’ after 49ers’ offseason departures
“For me, it’s just taking the field with my guys every day,” he explained. “I’m really still a young defensive lineman — I started playing D-line in 2019. I started at D-end, then I moved to D-tackle later on that year. So, I’ve actually played D-tackle longer in the NFL than I have in the rest of my life.
“So it’s just being able to take the field and get the experience that I can get. Staying healthy is huge for me. That’s why I’m saying I’m having a good camp.”
Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle helping 49ers compensate for WR camp injuries
“McCaffrey and Kittle are more than capable of making up for any dip in production from the 49ers’ group of wide receivers. And that was a point they drove home during the team’s 14th practice of training camp.
Kittle, in particular, had a big day with a huge assist from Purdy’s arm, catching a 35-yard touchdown on a corner route early in practice.“
Kris Kocurek shares why Nick Bosa felt need to become 49ers mentor this season
“[Bosa] was talking a few days ago about how it’s kind of reminiscent of his rookie year and the mistakes,” Kocurek said. “You go through it. It doesn’t matter if you’re the second pick of the draft or an undrafted guy. It’s a learning curve.
“Reminiscing about some of the things he had to adjust to, and he got adjusted to pretty quickly his year and ended up winning Defensive Rookie of the Year. Learning from his mistakes as a rookie and trying to help these guys accelerate their game at a faster pace. It’s been good to see.”

“I checked around, and my understanding is that the 49ers feel that the timing is all wrong.”
49ers practice report: For George Kittle, the cliff clearly isn’t close (paywall)
“Kittle’s performance Tuesday was Exhibit A. The nine-year veteran caught three long touchdown passes from quarterback Brock Purdy, including two of 50-plus yards that Purdy placed just over safety Ji’Ayir Brown’s outstretched arm. Kittle, who also had a 25-yard scoring grab, celebrated his last deep connection by flinging the football while joyfully screaming “F—ing touchdown!”
