The New York Giants have taken back one of the Pittsburgh Steelers wide receivers.

The New York Giants are signing wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins off the Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad, according to Dan Duggan of The Athletic.

Hodgins, 27, joined the Steelers practice squad on Sep. 16 as the team continued to search for wide receiver talent. However, he was never able to establish himself in Pittsburgh and now reunites with the Giants.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound receiver was a sixth-round draft pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills, who he spent the first three years (2020-22) of his professional career with. After missing his entire rookie season with a pair of injuries, he spent most of 2021 on the practice squad, appearing in just one game.

In 2022, he again started on the practice squad, but was promoted to the active roster on Oct. 8 and played against the Steelers the next day, making four catches for 41 yards.

After playing in two games, he was placed on waivers and claimed by New York, where he appeared in eight more games and made five starts.

Hodgins’ best career game came that Dec. 24 for the Giants against the Miami Dolphins, when he caught eight passes for 89 yards and a touchdown.

He finished the 2022 season with 10 games played, five starts, and 37 catches for 392 yards and four touchdowns. He re-signed with the Giants for the 2023 season, and played in all 17 games, making nine starts and catching 21 passes for 230 yards and three scores.

Hodgins again spent the 2024 season on the Giants’ practice squad without appearing in a game. This offseason, he signed with the San Francisco 49ers but was waived during final roster cuts in August. He had four catches for 36 yards this preseason.

Hodgins posted a 4.61-second 40-yard dash coming out of Oregon State in 2020. He also had a 36.5-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-4 broad jump.

He played three seasons with the Beavers, all as a stater. His best year was in 2019, when he caught 86 passes for 1,171 yards and 13 touchdowns.
