New York Giants news for Saturday
Good morning New York Giants fans!
“I was happy for the guys that got in. I competed against Jared Allen, I sent him a text, I feel like I kind of got him in because he sacked me so many times, I helped his resume,” Manning said. “Antonio Gates, when I was coming out, thinking about going to the Chargers, doing workouts with them, they were telling me ‘We’ve got this guy on the practice squad who didn’t play college football but he’s going to be a superstar, Hall of Famer,’ and I was like, Yeah, right. So happy for him.”
“His arm talent is crazy. His sidearm is crazy,” Nabers said of Stafford. “The way he throws the ball, his angles, it’s crazy. He knows the defense. He’s a veteran quarterback. He led that team to the playoffs without those receivers he was playing with at the beginning of the season when they were hurt. Then when he got them back, he was able to do a lot of great things. I like the way he throws the football.”
“I would love to have another guy on the other side, specifically a veteran guy I can learn from,” Nabers said. “Somebody that can take all the people looking at me. It would be amazing to try to get somebody of that level to come play with us, especially with Wan’Dale, too.”
Nabers finished fifth in voting, garnering 30 votes — four third-place votes, 13 fourth place and 13 fifth-place votes. The award went to Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels. Aside from Daniels, Nabers was up against some tough nominees this season. Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers finished second with Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix and Jacksonville Jaguars wideout Brian Thomas Jr. finishing third and fourth, respectively.
