Jaxson Dart is headlining the NFL for Week 4 as he has taken over for Russell Wilson as the starting quarterback for the New York Giants. The Giants will take on the 3-0 Los Angeles Chargers this Sunday, aiming for their first win of the season.

Head coach Brian Daboll had a tough decision to make. The Giants have not been a good team since he became head coach. Their first season went well as they won a playoff game against the Minnesota Vikings; however, since then, it has been a disaster for the Giants.

The move to make Dart the starting quarterback could really benefit the franchise, and Daboll did not want to wait any longer.

On Wednesday, while talking to the media, Dart made a promise to the fanbase.

“I’m going to lay everything I have on the line.”

Short and sweet, but Dart makes it clear that he believes he is ready and is willing to do whatever it takes. The rookie has had that mindset going back to his college stardom at Ole Miss. Dart was one of the best QBs in the nation, making throws and uniting an elite Rebels’ offense. It was not a shock to see him drafted in the first round by the Giants, but what was a shock was seeing the franchise bring in Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in the same offseason.

Dart will take on a tough Chargers’ defense on Sunday. The Bolts are one of the hottest teams in the league this season and are aiming for a perfect 4-0 start. Dart must play mistake-free football on Sunday to give his team a chance. LA’s defense can make things very difficult for him in a hurry and have rattled Patrick Mahomes, Geno Smith, and Bo Nix in three straight games.

If Dart goes out there and beats the Chargers in his first start, then it is safe to say that the job will be his to lose.
